Debora Pearson has written books for children that have been published in Canada, the United States and beyond. Her titles have received praise from School Library Journal, Booklist and Kirkus Reviews; they have also been translated into Chinese, Korean and Albanian. Debora’s newest book, My Words Flew Away Like Birds, will be published by Kids Can Press in 2021.
Debora holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Toronto. For the past decade, she has been a children’s librarian with the Toronto Public Library.
Debora has reviewed books for Publishers Weekly, The Horn Book Magazine and The Horn Book Guide, as well as the Swiss-based Secretariat of The International Board on Books for Young People. She was the lead curator for You, Me Us, an exhibit that opened in 2019 at the TD Gallery in downtown Toronto. This exhibit celebrated outstanding books for and about children with disabilities from around the world.
