About Me

Debora Pearson’s books for children have been published in Canada, the United States and beyond. Her titles have received praise from School Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews and Publishers Weekly; they have also been translated into Chinese, Korean and Albanian.

Debora holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Toronto. For the past twelve years, she has been a children’s librarian with the Toronto Public Library where she leads popular story times for young children and works with newcomer families from China, Korea and Iran.

Debora’s most recent book, My Words Flew Away Like Birds, received a starred review from Kirkus and was named a 2022 Outstanding International Book by USBBY, The United States Board on Books for Young People. A Persian edition is forthcoming.
