About Me

Debora Pearson’s books for children have been published in Canada, the United States and beyond. Her titles have received praise from School Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews and Publishers Weekly; they have also been translated into Chinese, Korean and Albanian.

A former children’s magazine and book editor, Debora holds an undergraduate degree in literature as well as a graduate degree in library science, both from the University of Toronto. For fourteen marvelous years, she was a children’s librarian with the Toronto Public Library where she led popular story times for young children and worked with newcomer families from China, Korea and Iran.

Debora’s most recent book, My Words Flew Away Like Birds, draws on her experience working with children in the library; this title received a starred review from Kirkus. A Persian edition is forthcoming.
